The Latino Education Advancement Fund (LEAF)
The Latino Education Advancement Fund (LEAF) is a non-profit startup organization established in 2016 by its founder president & CEO, Dinorah Olmos.
LEAF focused on providing Spanish-speaking Latino parents with information, knowledge, and skills to navigate their local educational systems.
Olmos strongly believes that parent education and engagement are crucial for student achievement even more for first-generation Spanish-speaking Latino parents and students. Latino parents need more than translated documents. They need to understand how schools work, what their children are learning, their rights and responsibilities within the school system, what extracurricular programs are available, and why they are essential to reach out to those programs.
At LEAF, we coach first-generation Spanish-speaking Latino parents and students, empowering parents to create a home atmosphere that solidifies their children’s academic and career paths. LEAF accomplishes its mission by implementing a complete Family Academic Engagement (â„ ) approach to develop lifelong academic success for Latino families.

Maestro Cares Foundation improves the quality of life of disadvantaged children and communities in Latin America and the United States. We do so by providing housing, educational programming and the essential resources to support their growth and development. Through our efforts, we’re strengthening communities and helping children become tomorrow’s leaders.

In 2012, the Maestro Cares Foundation was born with the mission to build homes and schools for disadvantaged children in Latin American and the United States.
​
Things moved fast—construction on the first Maestro Cares Foundation home began later that year, and in March 2014, the Orfanato Niños de Cristo opened its doors in La Romana, Dominican Republic. That first facility is now home to 50 boys, with accommodation for up to 100 boys.
Building on the success of that project, Maestro Cares Foundation has engaged in educational programs in Peru, and opened new projects in Colombia, Bolivia, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Guatemala, Chile, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Argentina, and the United States.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston provides a pipeline for young people to explore their passions, find their purpose, and prepare for a life of success and impact. Since 1893, Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston has played an essential role in opening doors and creating opportunities for young people across this city. BGCB looks to the future and the important work that continues to drive and inspire us. By reaching 22 of 23 communities throughout Boston and Chelsea, no other youth serving organization reaches more young people and families.
